Using a keyboard without dual function Function keys is another option. Users could unlock the function on the keyboard by clicking Fn+Esc. When launhed the shortcut Snagit 11, Cliking Tools-> Program Preferences->Program Options. Shift + cursor keys Move the cursor to select a rectangular snip area. Alt + N Create a new snip in the same mode as the last one. Right-click the current shortcut on the taskbar and choose Unpin from taskbar. I am trying to install SNAGIT 11 on Windows XP and Windows 7. Note the Snipping Tool specific shortcut keys (not easily found, but are referenced on a Microsoft page): Alt + M Choose a snipping mode. If the default is the Print Screen function position rather than the hotkey function, use Fn+SHIFT+F10 to get tag brackets in XPP, for example. Solution If clicking the icon in the taskbar does not open Snagit, re-pin the shortcut to the taskbar. For example, rather than the other application using Shift +F10, it could be changed to use CTRL + Shift + F10.Īnother reason Function keys such as F10, F9, F11 may not work would be that the keyboard function keys are dual purpose, for example, F10 and SHIFT+F10 may flip between Print Screen and a hotkey function. Click the icon to the right of the preset name and select one of the options in the dropdown. Edit a Preset In the Capture window, click the Presets button. In order to resolve the problem, either close the other application while XPP is running or configure the other application so it uses some other function key or hotkey for its shortcut so it will not interfere with XPP. To assign a keyboard shortcut, click the Add Hotkey (Windows) or + Shortcut (Mac) fields and press the desired key combination on the keyboard. SnagIt is one program that uses SHIFT+F10 for one of its functions. If the program is running at the same time XPP is running, there may be a collision that would cause the sequence not to work with XPP. Simple screen shots are easy, but training screen shots are now a bit harder since the active UI elements are closed when another application is selected to use the Print Screen button to trigger SnagIt.This problem can be caused by a collision of function keys used by two or more products running on the same system. Our current work-around is to click on another application to trigger SnagIt, but this drops any active UI in Creo. By default, Snagit has a keyboard shortcut to access the screenshot options while the app is running in the background. Lenovo has its own driver update tool keeping the laptop hardware and graphics drivers up-to-date which could add to the confusion. We use two primary suppliers for laptops and the problem appears to be isolated to Lenovo P series laptops running Windows 10. My best guess is a change introduced by Windows Updates, Optional Windows Updates or Manufacturer Updates in Windows 10. Its not a change in SnagIt because we have not updated SnagIt in months (IT controlled). Its not a change in Creo because we have not updated Creo in 6 months. In Windows 10, however, there’s an updated version of the Snipping Tool, called Snip & Sketch, which can be opened by pressing the Windows-Shift-S. It used to work flawlessly, but recently stopped working. Unfortunately, there isn’t a keyboard shortcut to open the Snipping Tool and it can only be opened manually. We are experiencing a new issue where the Print Screen button used to trigger Techsmith SnagIt does not work when Creo is the active application.
